Peneda Gerês National Park
The National Park
The Peneda-Gerês National Park, with 69,594.48 ha, extends from the plateaus of Mourela to Castro Laboreiro, including the mountains of Peneda, Soajo, Amarela and Gerês. It is a mountainous region, essentially granite, in whose high altitude areas the effects of the last glaciation are visible. Deep, closed valleys support a dense hydrographic network that enables a wide variety of ways of life and experiences.
An important tourist destination for more than a century, Gerês is a brand to defend, preserve and know how to take legitimate advantage of it for the sustainability of the region. Gerês offers high quality products and services aimed at providing the well-being that is so necessary in today's hectic life.
